I don't think that plane was an old set. It didn't look like I'd seen it before, and I tend to be very particular about sets, LoL.

Yeah, I remember the actors blogging about how that plane was built on a big machine that flipped it up, down and all around. I'm sure it was pretty expensive.
Yes, that's right, and they had a special nurse on hand in case any of the actors got motion sickness, but they didn't, because Nadia brought in motion-sickness pills, but she brought in the sleep-inducing ones by mistake... it's all coming back to me, lol. So yes, I'm sure it was expensive.

Best Episode: The Plane Crash (Days of Our Lives) So raw, real and terrifying I found myself gasping for air right along with the passengers. Go figure: The hour was stunningly produced by Ed Scott, who would soon be fired.
That should have gone to Storm's Death on B&B IMO.
Ooh, that was good too and didn't involve a money-tossing stunt.
Neither did Days, lol. Theyve had that plane set forever, a little camera shaking costs nothing.
Are you sure about that? I think I remember reading that they brought in a special plane just for these scenes, and that it was quite expensive. (Worth it, imo, but expensive.)
Actually, I think they brought in a simulator, kind of like those rides at theme parks or fairs where you go inside and get tossed around. The plane set was actually used before, I believe. It was the usual plane set they use when a plane is needed. I think the only thing new was the cockpit.

So, I think the only cost was the simulator and whatever it cost to make adjustments to the plane set (like the cockpit addition, etc). I don't think it was that much. They didn't go on location or do something ABC would do. I don't think it was that costly at all.

More or less, the casting of Shirley Jones probably hit them much harder.
